DataGlue

Glossary / in plain English

Server-side tracking

Server-side tracking records or sends an event from a server rather than only from a person's browser.

01 / Why it matters

What this helps you understand.

A payment server can record a paid invoice even if the browser is closed. Server collection still needs accurate IDs, duplicate handling and the right collection choices.

02 / A small example

The steps. Then the tag.

Example rule / events → tag

  1. Website: enquiry submitted

  2. Payment server: invoice paid

In this order, within 30 days, on the same confirmed customer; count the payment once.

Resulting tag

Enquiry paid

Illustrative rule. Sources, match keys and timing are agreed in the build.

03 / In DataGlue

How we use it.

DataGlue can join server records received through an API, webhook or warehouse with the website journey. Server-side tracking does not remove consent requirements or fill in missing events.
