DataGlue

Glossary / in plain English

Consent

Consent is a person's clear choice to allow a particular use of their information.

01 / Why it matters

What this helps you understand.

A choice about one use does not automatically cover another. Recording the choice and respecting changes helps your team decide what it may collect and send.

02 / A small example

The steps. Then the tag.

Example rule / events → tag

  1. Preferences: marketing choice recorded as yes

  2. Loyalty: member purchase recorded

In this order, on the same member; check that the choice is still yes before sending.

Resulting tag

Purchaser with marketing permission

Illustrative rule. Sources, match keys and timing are agreed in the build.

03 / In DataGlue

How we use it.

DataGlue maps collection choices and permitted uses with your team. A tag does not grant permission: the source choice and the destination's rules still govern any action.
